Summer SAT Math Prep
This summer (2023) I'll be offering ten day SAT Math Prep Classes.
Classes will be at Grosse Pointe South HS and will run 10 days for 75 minutes each day. I will work with you to develop a schedule that works. All classes are one-on-one
Here's what we'll do in the class:
The College Board (the corporation that writes the SAT and AP tests) has divided the math content into 4 sub curricular topics.
Heart of Algebra
Problem Solving and Data Analysis
Passport to Advanced Math
Additional Topics in Math
Each class period we will look at your student's work and determine areas for improvement among each of these sub-curricular topics. As a result, students will have homework each night. This will be one of the following to be consistent with the actual SAT
a 25 minute test with no calculator
a 55 minute test with a calculator
some extra practice problems on one specific topic with which I've determined the student needs additional work
Practice materials will be compiled from:
Old SAT tests released by the college board
Practice test written by The Princeton Review
When necessary, some materials I have written myself.
Prior to the class starting:
Students will take two practice timed Math SAT tests:
A 25 minute test with NO calculator (20 questions)
A 55 minute test with a calculator. (38 questions)
This will help me pinpoint each student's strengths and weaknesses for each student, according to the 4 topics discussed above.

The course costs only $500 per student. With ten 75 minute classes, this is way less than the $100 per hour I charge for tutoring during the school year. This can be paid by cash, check, or venmo.
